Iowa City Sober Living Chosen as Support a Cause Recipient for Upcoming Heartlanders Hockey Game

IOWA CITY, IA — February 26, 2024 — Iowa City Sober Living (ICSL), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing and support for women in recovery, is proud to announce its selection as the Support a Cause nonprofit of the night at an upcoming Heartlanders game. The event is scheduled to take place on April 12, 2024, at the Xtream Arena.

As the chosen nonprofit, Iowa City Sober Living will be showcased throughout the game, with a portion of the ticket proceeds going directly to support their mission. Tickets for the game are priced at $18, with 30% of all ticket sales generated during the fundraiser allocated to ICSL. Discounted tickets for the 6:35 p.m. game against the Kalamazoo Wings can be purchased by visiting this link. 

“We are thrilled to be selected as the Support a Cause partner  for the upcoming Heartlanders hockey game,” said Merrilee Ramsey, Co-founder of Iowa City Sober Living. “This event provides us with a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about our organization and the critical work we do to support women in their journey towards recovery and have some fun while we’re at it.”

Highlights of the night will include:

• 2 ICSL Zamboni rider appearances;
• Concourse table with giveaways and ICSL branded items for purchase;
• Loudspeaker recognition;
• $2 concession specials from 6-8 p.m.

Iowa City Sober Living offers a supportive environment for women transitioning from addiction to recovery and sobriety. Through structured programming, wellness initiatives, housing, career resources, and peer support, residents are empowered to rebuild their lives and embrace a healthier future.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this fundraiser event,” said Lindsey Sinn, ICSL Board Member. “Events like these not only help us raise funds but also allow us to connect with the community and share our stories of hope and transformation.”

The fundraiser promises to be an exciting opportunity for the community to come together in support of Iowa City Sober Living and its residents during the final Friday night home game of the Heartlanders’ season. Attendees can enjoy an exhilarating hockey game while making a meaningful contribution to a worthy cause.
